I am currently pursuing an MA in Art Therapy at Southern Illinois University, where I am engaged in a practicum in hospice care. I hold a BA in Art Therapy from Mount Mary University, where I completed an honors thesis on mental health and bipolar disorder. My current research focuses on sustainability in my industry. My professional journey includes a nine-year career with the Wisconsin Army National Guard, where I developed and managed communication strategies, both domestically and internationally. Having closed this chapter, I now apply my public affairs skills at SIUE's business school where I hold a marketing and PR assistantship.
Additionally, I hold a 500-hour yoga teaching certification from Hatha Yoga School in India Studied where I studied advanced anatomy, pranayama techniques, meditation practices, and in-depth yoga philosophy and teaching techniques. As a future therapist, this background informs my practice and theoretical orientation. Currently, I teach yoga to adolescents with eating disorders at a local clinic and military families at a nearby base. I also offer private lessons online or in-person.
My memberships in various professional associations, including the American Art Therapy Association and the Association for Humanistic Counseling, support my dedication to integrating therapeutic practices with community engagement and sustainability.
